Custodian of ancient culture and heritage, the Lahore Museum located on Mall Road, was designed by Sir Ganga Ram is 1856. It is considered to be the largest museum in the country. A walk through the museum is not only a walk through Lahore’s history but through that of various civilizations.


Statue of the fasting Buddha, ancient relics from the Indus Valley civilization as well as the Gandhara and Graeco-Bactrian periods, Mughal paintings, Tibetan and Napalese artwork, along with antique jewelry, collection of ancient musical instruments, pottery and armory are some of the masterpieces which make this museum worth visiting.
