The Badshahi Mosque, 2nd largest in Pakistan and 5th largest in the world, was commissioned by Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb in 1671.The architecture of this mosque, from the delicately carved embellishments of the mosque’s roof, floors of Sang-e-Alvi, walls decorated with stucco tracery, fresco work to beautiful stone carving and red stone exterior, it is a symbol of passion, exquisiteness and magnificence of the Mughal dynasty.


Located just adjacent to the Lahore Fort, this majestic structure is one of the most popular tourist attractions. Inside the Badshahi mosque, tomb of Allama Iqbal the famous poet and visionary of Pakistan is also found.
